This ink is made from acorns collected by the children and dried in my handbag. It produces a soft brown ink which intensifies as it dries

This ink is designed to be a brushing ink and although it is thickened with gum Arabic, it does have a slightly thinner consistency. If you want a slightly thicker ink, you can always add a few more drops of gum Arabic (available from all good art supply stores in liquid form).

Supplied in a 30ml bottle

Very limited amount available.

  • All inks are hand made in small batches. This means that they are subject to slight colour changes, which add to their uniqueness. Please also note that natural inks are influenced by the pH and colour of the paper you are using so we always suggest testing them 1st.

    Shake well before use.

In order to preserve the ink, each bottle contains a whole clove. This helps reduce bacterial contamination.

Exposure to air for long periods can increase the bacterial growth, so keep the lid on.

  • Natural inks are not colour fast. This means that to preserve your work, keep out of direct sunlight.

The exception to this is oak gall ink! But over the years it can have a tendency to eat paper.
