Illustration- the typical process

Initial chat- Free!

This is where i get a feel for your project. We talk about your goals, vision for the book and i normally take a look at your manuscript (or part there of). All information is passed in confidence and your work remains your property at all times. I can conduct this via phone, email, message, video call or in person if you live in Cornwall!

Sample- £80

This is a compulsory part of the project for all new clients

This is where i take everything we have talked about and produce a piece of work based around your text. I also sketch out some character designs and anything i feel relevant to you visualising how your project will come together.

Payment is taken upfront for this and you are not under any obligation to hire me for the full project. All sample rights are retained by myself.

Full Book Illustration- This starts at £60 per page dependent upon complexity

Once you decide to proceed with the project a contract will be formed. This will outline usage rights, copyrights and timescales.

After this is agreed, we move on to storyboarding your project, sketching and then final colouring and editing. All my work is finished in Photoshop and can be provided in a variety of formats depending on requirements. All my work is original.

I often find that authors wish to work in instalments and i am happy with this.

Formatting- starting at £300

This is where i can bring together your pictures and words. Often authors hire a separate formatter and i am happy to provide the files needed to facilitate this. If you wish me to continue the process though, i can bring your files together into a print ready format.

I am used to publishing with KDP, traditional printers and Ingram.

Consultancy work

Thinking of self publishing but don't know where to begin? Don't worry, i have the experience and many of the answers! I am happy to provide consultancy on this.

Book in an hours 1 to 1 session with myself and discuss all aspects of the project. At the end i shall send you a summary of points we have discussed and the first steps you need to take.

If you feel that you need to touch base again throughout your project, an ongoing rate can be discussed.

Session are conducted over the phone, video or in person if you live locally.
